Social Norms as Influencers of Type 2 Diabetes Behaviours

This peer-reviewed article presents findings from a research study examining social norms and their influence on type 2 diabetes prevention and management behaviors in Uganda. The study uses a social norms framework to understand how community attitudes and practices shape individual health decisions.Our research reveals significant insights into the social and cultural factors that enable or constrain healthy behaviors. The findings have important implications for designing more effective diabetes prevention and management programs that address underlying social norms rather than focusing solely on individual behavior change.

A Process Evaluation of the Quality Improvement Learning Site
